Celebration Day

During Covid ‘Lockdown 1’, with time on my hands, I decided to do a jam (by myself) of Led Zeppelin’s classic ‘Celebration Day’. I wanted to capture a ‘live performance’, so there is no miming on here!
What you see on the screen is what you hear and they are all one take wonders!
A bit of fun, but I’m really pleased with it! … I can’t sing as high as Robert Plant obvs!

The Blink of an Eye

This song had been lurking around for donkeys years and I always liked it, but I felt that it never quite reached its full potential. It was only when I let my then 8 year old boy play guitar on it that it sprung into life. I had to come up with a super-simplified guitar part for him to play and as he was is a Pink Floyd fan, I got him to play a one string part like Gilmour plays on the intro of ‘Time’. All of a sudden, the song sprung into life and that guitar part that little Elliot recorded is still on there and takes centre stage.
What a lucky accident!

Ace of Spades (acoustic)

I’d seen Motorhead many times over the years as they’d been on many of the festivals that I’d done.
I stood at the side of the stage watching them the year before Lemmy died. He was obviously not in great shape, but the show had to go on.
A true rock and roll warrior!
The day he died – I went into the studio that very evening and recorded this acoustic version, to pay homage to him. It’s proved to be quite a popular version.
